Has anyone been feeding either Infinia Exclusive Grain Free or
Taste of the Wild? I'd be interested in your feedback on the
quality of these brands. I am looking to switch to a little bit
lower price grain free food, I am currently feeding Arcana
Pacifica. These two brands seem like they would be a good
substitute. I wanted to be certain they did not use Ethoxyquin and
was not sure I wanted to feed a food with added salt so I contacted
PMI Nutrition (maker of Infinia) and got this response back.
"The Salmon & Sweet Potato Recipe contains 0.31% sodium. Our
salmon can come from multiple sources, and can be farm raised or
from the Atlantic ocean. Regarding preservation, all of our Infinia
diets are naturally preserved with mixed tocopherols (a source of
vitamin E) at manufacturing. Prior to receiving fish ingredients,
our supplier preserves it with a natural antioxidant called
Naturox.... Naturox is a natural preservative that does not contain
ethoxyquin. We do not use fish meal preserved with ethoxyquin in
our Infinia diets."
What do you think of 0.31% sodium, is this low enough that it will
not be a problem?
TOTW lists on their web site that all fish sources are Ethoxyquin
free, but TOTW is owned by Diamond Company and I know that the
company has been involved in recalls in the past.
I think that PMI Nutrition that is an offshoot of Purina Mills that
was bought by another company. I do not think it is part of Purina
. Does anyone know if this is correct?
If anyone has an opinion on either of these foods, I'd appreciate
the feedback. Thanks.
