There are different categories of hunting hounds, the sight hounds (hunt by sight), and scent hounds (hunt by scent). Some hunting dogs are good for working either on water or on land and some work on both. Dogs were able to provide men with food, clothing, and even helped out to build their rudimentary houses. Dogs were men’s best friend. I imagine, back then, the bonding between men and dogs was special since dogs helped you out on nearly everything. Nowadays we go to work and leave our dogs behind. We see them after we come back from work and we are so exhausted their wagging tales make us dizzy. Some of the popular hunting hounds’ breeds are English coonhound, Plott Coonhound, Redbone, Treeing Walker, Bluetick, Leopard Curs, Beagle, Bloodhound, etc. Hunting dogs can get sick from rabbit and bird droppings. They can pick up avian flu. Hunting dogs are more at risk of contracting some severe illnesses since they are left alone wondering. Some of the symptoms of avian flu are difficulty breathing, coughing, fever, and difficulty walking. Chances are your dog will die if he/she is not taken to the Vet immediately after you suspect he has the flu.
